Audit process

How a Kaede engagement unfolds

Whether you need a statutory opinion or a narrower review, the spine is the same: clear scope, documented testing, and a closing conversation that finance teams can act on.

Scoping call

We confirm entity structure, year-end, inventory sites, prior auditor status, and the report date your lender or board needs. You leave with a draft fee range and a list of documents for the engagement letter.

Engagement letter

Scope, fee, deposit, management responsibilities, and independence confirmations are set in writing. Work does not start until both sides sign.

Planning & risk assessment

We identify significant accounts, fraud risks, and sample sizes. A request list goes to your bookkeeper with deadlines tied to fieldwork weeks.

Fieldwork

Tests of details, analytical procedures, bank and receivable confirmations, and inventory observation where stocks are material. Incomplete reconciliations are escalated early.

Findings & report

Draft findings, management responses, the management letter, and — for statutory audits — the signed auditor’s report. Closing meetings are held in person or by video as you prefer.

What you prepare

Trial balance, general ledger export, bank statements, fixed-asset register, inventory listings, related-party schedule, and prior-year working papers if you are changing auditors. A fuller list follows the engagement letter.
